A recent awards event in the city saw a huge turnout of film personalities   thanks to the ongoing strike in K’town. Vijay was awarded  the Rajini Award for his performance in velayudhamat the 5^th edition  of the Edison Award for tamil cinema that look placer recently.

While Richa Gangopadhyay received the Best Actress award , Iniya and Mahat were    honoured as the best  debutants. Premji received the comedian award and LR Eswari was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award . Aishwarya  Dhanush   received the best song award for the Kolaveri Di  number. Harris Jayaraj was adjudged the best music composer and Kovai sarala the best character artiste. A host of  K’town celebs including Jayam ravi, Lakshmi Rai and director Mysshkin were present.
